In 1969, Michael Hersey set up his own workshop in Clerkenwell, London. Joined by his son Stewart Hersey in 1980, the company later moved from Twickenham (nr. Richmond) to premises in Teddington, Middlesex and have since then established themselves as a fine manufacturer of sterling silverware and a supplier to many of the worlds' most exclusive and well known stores.
The aim of Stewart Hersey is to bring fine silverware into the 21st century with innovative new designs. A mixture of classic design & contemporary colouring and texture bring our coloured frosted glass matchtrikers into a new era & our classic 'milk churn' salt & pepper mills are fast becoming one of our most popular items, even featuring in the national newspaper 'The Independent' on Wed. 28th May 2003.
Customers vary in their location and are both local, Twickenham, Richmond, Esher, Reigate, London & further afield, Cambridge, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Dublin etc. But also, now, international countries such as the USA & Greece have been able to shop with us safely over the internet. Our new practical silverware range, pioneered by Stewart Hersey, makes sure products are always up-to-date.
Today, with the changing times, our new webstore aims to reach people from all over the world so anyone & everyone can enjoy the luxury of sterling silverware. Being an exciting time, our simple, secure & easy to use website makes buying from us online a purely enjoyable experience, whilst maintaining the confidence that your details are totally safe.
We endeavour to provide the highest levels of customer support & aim to satisfy everyone that visits practicalsilverware.co.uk with varied and beautiful hand made sterling silver products.
